Our Story

Plaisance Company was born with the entrepreneurial spirit of its founder, José Martins, a cabinet maker as a profession in France. With a good knowledge of furniture, José aimed to create collections inspired by the tradition of the finest furniture crafted in Europe.

Quality in the manufacturing process as well as in the field of design is one of the company’s engines.

Our quality requirements make us choose “selected woods”, mainly wild cherry wood, oak wood, and walnut wood, which come from France and are dried outdoors, then in a steam room.

Most of our production remains artisanal and emphasizes manual work with a concern for perfection, which makes each piece of furniture a unique piece to adapt to the demands of the customers.

We have a team of designers developing new products and collections and are ready to develop products in cooperation with customers.

Departments

COMMERCIAL

The “Commercial Department” is the heart of any company. It needs to “pump” into all the company “veins”, to reach success. Here we study possible ways to keep the company growing, never forgetting our principal aim, which is the best quality. Plaisance puts all its efforts into delivering to customers the best product and service possible.

DESIGN

The designers of Plaisance use the hand sketching process as the first step in any furniture project. At the very beginning, our designers cooperate as a team to discuss all the ideas presented by each one until an agreement comes up. Always keeping in mind the briefing requirements, such as all the needs and problematics the piece(s)...

… implies to the customer and to the environment where it will be placed. All done, we move to 2D/3D, which is performed through software used nowadays in industry to have precision in the design of furniture pieces. This method is also used to reduce the error margin as much as possible.

PRODUCTION

FINISHING

Much of Plaisance's recognition lies in the finishes. Plaisance has a wide range of finishes, from the most natural colors to colored lacquered, allowing it to adapt any type of furniture to its time or to the place where it will be implemented. We can say that the customer's imagination is the limit. Whether it's a minimalist image that fits the environment...

… with modern touches or the piece of your dreams to be highlighted in the foreground and in great prominence, we accept the challenge. Our greatest specialty is in the New Classic, where manual techniques are used to give an apparent aging of the pieces, combined with the use of decorative hardware in high-quality brass, which makes each piece unique!
